In September, the department hosted the 2024 Skip Elliott Careers in Criminal Justice Networking Night. At this event, undergraduate students join professionals from local, state, and federal organizations to learn more about current internships and jobs available after graduation. Students and invited guests enjoyed dinner with informal conversation before the evening moved into a version of “speed networking” where students had the opportunity to move around the room and talk with the professionals of interest.
Over 50 CJUS students met with agencies represented by the Monroe County Department of Child Services, IU Maurer School of Law, Indiana State Police, IU Criminal Justice Graduate Students, IU Police Department, Monroe County Probation, IU Peace Corps Office, Target Security Corporation, HOPE Mentoring, Bloomington Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New Hope For Families, Ireland Home Based Services, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and the Middle Way House. The date for the fall event is September 23rd, 2025. If your organization is interested in participating in future Networking Nights, please contact us at crimjust@iu.edu.
