We are excited to welcome Dr. Bonnie Ernst to the Department of Criminal Justice. Dr. Ernst started this Spring 2023 semester, currently teaching CJUS-P408 Mass Imprisonment.
Dr. Ernst spent a year as a Visiting Assisant Professor with our department before joining the University of Florida in 2019. Bonnie received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 2018 and her research focuses on the history of race, gender, and criminal justice in the United States.
She is currenlty working on a book that examines how the women's movement shaped activism among incarcerated women, attorneys, and community leaders during the rise of mass incarceration in Detroit.
