Rachel Bowman, PhD
Assistant Professor Rachel Bowman joined the faculty as a tenured track faculty member in August 2025.
Dr. Bowman received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Eastern Mennonite University, a Master of Science in Justice, Law, and Criminology from American University, and Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. She studies court actor decision-making with a specific focus on the role of legal, extralegal, personal, and organizational factors in shaping pretrial and sentencing decisions in criminal courts.
